ski like a girl: No Vonn-couver today

From NPR's News Blog The two-Way

After skiing to the lead in the downhill portion of the Super Combined event this morning, Lindsey Vonn told reporters near the finish line that her injured shin "is not good. It's really hurting and I'm just struggling with it. [It] was, yeah, definitely the most pain its been since I started skiing on it. But there's nothing really I can do. Y'know, I just have to try to do therapy and try to tough it out today and then tomorrow will be a good day off. And then hopefully then I'll be ready for the Super-G."

After race leader Lindsey Vonn crashed into a gate in the slalom, her best friend Maria Riesch of Germany won the women's Super-combined gold at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.  Julia Mancuso of the U.S. took the silver (Yay, Julia!!!!!!!!) and Anja Paerson of Sweden the bronze.  Click HERE for full results.

Lindsey, you need to get back to your condo, get off of your leg, and wrap some of that Austrian cheese around it.  Get some rest and rehab Super-G is Saturday.  ski like a girl is cheering for you!
