ski like a girl: Lindsey Vonn takes the Gold

Although most of us won't get to watch this until prime-time (thanks NBC) I just had to share.
Lindsey Vonn wins the gold in the Olympic Downhill.  Yeah Lindsey!  No hint of her recent shin injury was evident as Lindsey flew down the tough  Franz's Downhill  run.

Lindsey finished with a winning time of 1minute 44.19 seconds. Beating silver medalist and teammate Julia Mancuso by 0.56 seconds.  Elisabeth Georgl of Austria took the bronze medal 1.46 seconds behind Vonn.

Congratulations Lindsey, Julia, and Elizabeth!  You've heard of Lindsey and her Vonnterage.  What about Lindsey and Vonn-couver. One down and four to go for Lindsey and it's Vonn-couver 2010!

p.s. Last night American Idol beat the Olympics in ratings.  I do have to admit I watched American Idol first with the little ski princess and then watched my DVR'd  Olympic coverage late into the night.  With both Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White on tonight maybe the Olympics will prevail. Let's not forget Shani Davis and Apolo Ohono too. It's a big night for NBC coverage to bad we can't watch it live.
