ski like a girl says Gretchen needs a Gold!

Kelly Clark has one.  Hannah Tetter has one.  ski like a girl says it's Gretchen's turn!  Gretchen needs a gold medal.

Watch Olympic silver medalist, Gretchen Bleiler on Conan O'Brien.  She explains her signature move "The Crippler", a front-side 540 (1 1/2 rotations) with a back-flip.  And explains other snowboarding terminology to Conan and a (possibly drunk? and very annoying) Norm MacDonald.  He mistakenly calls her Kelly.  What's up with that Norm?  Can't you tell your snowboarders apart?

Here's how I see it based on nothing but my completely biased opinion.

1. Gretchen

2. Hannah

3. Kelly

Gretchen Bleiler at the X Games winning the Gold in her home town of Aspen!

Apparently 50 Cent told her earlier that day to “be confident and kick some butt”.  Good advice.  Wonder what his advice is for her at the Olympics today?

You can wait until NBC's belated coverage to find out if I'm right.  Or if you just can't hold out click Here to see the official results.  Who are you rooting for?  Leave message in the comments.  I'd love to hear from you.

xoxo,

ski girl

p.s.  If you have a little shredder that wants to be like Gretchen send them to High Cascade Snowboarding Camp this summer on Mt. Hood.  Gretchen will be there holding signature clinics, contests, activities, for Signature Session Six, August 5-11.

Julia's going to be giving away some swag from Whistler!  Actually her tweet and facebook page said shag but I though I should clean it up for her.  That can't be what she really meant, right?  Or could it be schwag?  Not sure what Julia's is giving away, it is Canada. Follow her tweets to find out!

ski like a girl likes Julia, she's not afraid of a little shameless self promotion.  At the US Women's ski team press conference when Lindsey Vonn was questioned about her Sports Illustrated swimsuit pictorial, Julia managed to slide in a plug for her new venture. "And yeah, as far as getting down to your skivvies, I started a lingerie company this year, and I'm launching it at the Games here, and just, I think it's great that we can show off the first thing on and the last thing off."

Watch for Julia in the:
She'll be wearing her Kiss My Tiara boy shorts under her speed suit.

ski girl
p.s.  Maybe Julia's giving away some of her new underwear line Kiss My Tiara. She had 500 thongs and 500 boy shorts made up and will give them out at the Olympics to friends, family and even competitors.  I'd love a pair or two!

Freestyle Skiing at the Olympics: How hard can it be?

How to ski moguls with Olympic skier Hannah Kearney

Hannah shares her knowledge with WSJ's Reed Albergotti as part of the Vancouver Olympic Series, "How hard can it be?"

I'd say pretty hard.  I am not good at bumps.  I traverse a lot.  I think Reed does a pretty god job!

All about Hannah:

  • 2006 Olympic Winter Games - 22nd
  • 2005 World Champion
  • 2009 World Championships bronze medalist (dual moguls), 14th (moguls)
  • 2009 World Cup Season Champion

xoxo,

ski girl
